The Migration Museum and History Trust of SA are pleased to partner with Flinders University, Faculty of Education, Humanities and Law in the Migrants’ Belongings project.
This project seeks to investigate the significance of personal belongings included in the travel trunks of assisted Greek and Italian migrants when they came to Australia in the post-WWII, largely for economic reasons. Its aim is to investigate a) what the objects that migrants bring with them tell us and b) how they function to connect the country of birth with the new environment, socially and culturally.
The Migration Museum has also been pleased to host a number of interns through Flinders University.
