A workshop on sweets and drinks offered to guests to celebrate childbirth.

You will watch a demonstration on how to make ‘meghli’, a delightful and aromatic rice pudding dessert rich in sweet spices. Also, you will have the opportunity to discover about the ‘meghli’ hot drink or ‘aynar’, a spice infused tea served with nuts to celebrate new babies.
This workshop is hosted by the Arabic Language and Culture Association of SA (ALCASA) and the History Trust of South Australia’s Migration Museum, and is in conjunction with the Ahlan wa sahlan exhibition.
The workshop is supported by a grant from Multicultural Affairs, Department of the Premier and Cabinet.
