South Seas souveniring

Trading on Fijians’ grisly reputation for consuming their enemies, ‘cannibal forks’ were manufactured as souvenirs from the early nineteenth century. Reflecting on this fascinating history, Stephen Zagala will discuss Pacific Islander souveniring. Stephen Zagala is a World Cultures Research Fellow at the South Australian Museum.

This lecture is offered as part of a series of events and workshops in conjunction with the current exhibition Greetings from…the power of souvenirs.
