History Festival – From Exhibition to Altar: The Story of the Davey Family Wedding Gown

Journey from spectacle to ceremony in a vivid exploration of South Australia’s couture past. Curator Corinne Ball discusses the Davey family’s significant donation of costume to the History Trust, while Artlab textile conservator Petrina Killey reveals new research into Sarah Shannon’s ‘Worth’ wedding gown, worn at her marriage to Arnold Edwin Davey in 1883. Gown will be on display.
