This walking tour uncovers the forgotten footprint and architecture of Adelaide’s Destitute Asylum, which housed South Australia’s poor, especially new arrivals, mothers and children, between 1850 and 1918. Discover the fascinating history and learn about the lives of those who lived here.
Join staff from the Migration Museum, currently occupying some of the Asylum’s last surviving buildings, and discover the orientation of the site and its structures that famously was the Destitute Asylum.
