Celebrate the eight extraordinary state and territory recipients of the 2023 Australian of the Year Awards, including national winner and South Australian Taryn Brumfitt. Learn about their lives, aspirations and experiences through objects of personal significance.  

Each year, the National Museum asks the Australian of the Year state and territory finalists to select an object of personal significance to them which tells us something special about their lives, careers, aspirations and experiences. These objects, the finalists’ trophies and the story behind their remarkable achievements provide the unique content of this exhibition.
